Hi, all,
Is there anyone could tell me how to convert the flux unit 'Jy/beam' to 'Jy' ?
Thanks!

Re: UVFIT improvement?
hi, Emil,
Could you tell me how to download this audio presentation from the internet?
I am learning the radio data process, these audios will be useful for me. Thanks!

Re: about uvamp
Hi, Jamie,
Thank you very much! The result is from a soft X-ray transient source which was usually thought to be a point source (sometimes we can also see the extended structures from the jet). My result is strange and I should check it carefully.
Thanks and best regards,
Hui

about uvamp
Hi, Jamie,
In your tutorial about the miriad data reduction, you mentioned that we can use 'uvamp ' to check whether a source is really a point source or not. But how to judge from the results, like the following three figures? What does the dashed line mean?
Thanks!

Re: IMFIT - gaussian fitting
Hi, everyone,
I am also puzzeled with this problem. I don't know how to estimate the error for this integrated flux?
I hope someone can solve this problem. Thanks!

Re: about using the uvfit to get the radio flux
Hi, everyone, I think jamie is right. I get the negtive flux because I do not find source. I can use difmap to map the visibilities and get the position of the source. This positon is set to be the initial parameter in uvfit and can get the right radio flux. But there is still a question puzzle me. ...

Re: Buffer overflow in UVFIT
Hi,...
I also met this problem. And I tried to revise the head file inc/maxdim.h
and confiugre the miriad again following jamie's suggestions. what a pity, it still can not fix
the error.

about using the uvfit to get the radio flux
hi , Miriad expert, When I process the radio data with 'uvfit' command to get the radio flux, I usually got a negative flux value? What did the negative value mean? What caused such kind of result and how to correct it? I have puzzled with this problem for a long time. Its lucky for me to succeed to...
