Re: mirpy

Hi, and if you have trouble parsing task output and/or have suggestions for output formatting for miriad tasks that would make that easier please post those here too. We don't want to change the formats too often, because it might break existing scripts, but some tasks do need improved output or upd...

Re: Flagging CABB data

Hi Sarah, the channels flagged are 640,256,768,1408,1280,1920,1792,1176,156,128,1152 plus 1 (for each), this is approximately the order of strength. The 100 edge channels really are not adding much, they are on the edge of the 2 GHz filter. I based the number on what people were using in their CABB ...

Re: Spectral Model Subtraction

Hi Emil, looking at the code it looks like it does try to handle mfclean models with 2 planes when options=mfs is specified. E.g., it contains the following: if(nz.eq.2) Intp(j) = Intp(j) + * log(real(sfreq(j)/freq0))*Intp(j+1) (If there are 2 planes in the model and mfs has been specified, calculat...

Re: 7mm receiver polarisation problems

Hi Jess, thanks for investigating this. It looks like the fix I came up with was not what we wanted. I've checked in a new fix, this time I'm changing the feed receptor angle by 90 degrees. I reprocessed your data with the new atlod and the strange gain behaviour is gone, but the sign of Q and U are...

Re: 7mm receiver polarisation problems

A fix has now been made to atlod which reverses the sign of the XY and YX correlations for 7mm data. This results in Q and U (and V) having the opposite sign. The polarization angle changes by 90 degrees. The new atlod should be available from tomorrow. If the problem is fixed in hardware at some fu...

Best 6cm center frequency with CABB

The current recommended frequency for 6cm observing is 5500MHz. Looking at the autocorrelation noise cal it looks like wild things are happening at the top of the band (from 6380 upwards). Jamie took some data with 5300 MHz as the center frequency to see if things were better at the bottom end. Here...
