Overplotting HST data - REDGRID?

Post by har950 »

Hi all,

I want to overplot an HST image and an ATCA image on the same figure.

I can't do this simply in kvis because the HST image has RA, Dec on a wonky angle, whereas the ATCA data are projected with RA on the horizontal axis.

Presumably this means I need to first regrid the HST data. Have tried for several hours with different settings but I can't work out how to straighten up the HST image so that RA is along the horizontal axis of the image.

Can anyone please advise me how to straighten up the sky??

Many thanks,

Lisa

Hi Lisa,

If the map coordinates are recognised by regrid you should be able to put the HST image in 'in', the radio image in 'tin', set axes=1,2 and run regrid.
If this fails it would help if you could post the headers of the input images and any output or alternatively put the images somewhere I can grab them to see if I can make it work.
Send me an email if you don't want to publicly list the image locations.

Cheers,

Mark
