I just had my system admin upgrade the OS on my Mac Pro to OSX Mountain Lion, from Snow Leopard. Now, whenever I try to run KVIS, I get the following error:
$ kvis
-bash: /usr/local/karma/bin/kvis: Bad CPU type in executable
I tried to find where to download the latest version on the Karma webpage, but there doesn't seem to be a web link to the files, and the FTP is not working for me for some reason. Nor does the page seem to list anyone as a contact for the software package.
So I'm not sure if this is the best place to ask this question, but: Assuming that this is an OS issue, can this software be recompiled for use with Mountain Lion? If this is not the right place to ask this questions, can you let me know who to contact?
Cheers,
Craig.

Re: KVIS and OSX Mountain Lion
Hi Craig,
kvis/karma is working fine for me under Mountain Lion ... but then, so too is the ftp site i.e. ftp://ftp.atnf.csiro.au/pub/software/karma/
Did you connect as a "Guest" (anonymous) ... also, did you install the x86_64 version as that is most likely what you'll need if you're running Mountain Lion.
Cheers,
Emil.

Re: KVIS and OSX Mountain Lion
Problem solved - the latest version of KVIS works with Mountain Lion. It was just an FTP problem with my computer that was preventing me from getting it.
Thanks Emil!
