Hi Gemma,
I should note that unless you did an acal after you recovered from the block drop, and if you kept the tvchannels the same before and after the drop, then you might not need to do anything special.

Re: Observation table in OPAL
Hi Steve, Sorry this is not working for you. I can't replicate this on my end. I think to progress I may need to see your observations table file, in case there is a problem with the combination of what you've got in there and the OPAL system. Could you please send me (via email, Jamie.Stevens at cs...

Re: Observation table in OPAL
Hi Steve,
With Chrome 96.0.4664.45 on Ubuntu I was able to create and successfully save an OXML observations table just before replying, from https://opal.atnf.csiro.au.
Could you please elaborate on your process and configuration?

Hi Rami, I would also suggest you read Thompson, Moran and Swenson 3rd edition section 4.7 about polarimetry. https://link.springer.com/chapter/10.1007/978-3-319-44431-4_4 Towards the end it gives some useful advice regarding this situation (in 4.7.5): With linearly polarized antennas, errors in cal...

Re: How do you find the total time on source?
Hi Nick, My recommendation is to use the task uvfstats. What you are after is the number of unflagged correlations in a single IF, on a single baseline, for a single pol, in a single channel. Multiplying this by the cycle time (assuming it's constant over the duration of all the correlations) will r...

Re: mirpy
Hi Brodie, I'm afraid I cannot replicate your issue. With code virtually identical to yours, using Python 2.7, I get no TypeError: # This is test.py from mirpy import miriad def atlod_filter(output): return output.split('\n') ddir='/home/ste616/Work/CX424/*.CX424' miriad.set_filter('atlod', atlod_fi...

Re: mirpy
Hi Brodie, What exactly are you trying to get from the "atload_filter" routine? The "decode" method seems to attach to a byte object, not a string, which would explain why you're getting the errors you are. If all you're trying to do is get a list of the lines output from atlod, ...

Re: mirpy
You are misspelling "atlod" as "atload" in your call to set_filter. I don't know if this is the problem that you were experiencing originally, but given we should assume that mirpy does support Python 3, it's a possibility.
Could you please show the entire script?

Re: mirpy
Hi Brodie,
Does mirpy actually support Python 3? I've never tried. Could you try your exact same steps in 2.7 and see if the problem is the same?
