Hi everyone,
I'm wondering if MFCLEAN is now improved to make a full band image at 2.1 GHz. previously, I had to image in 500 MHz sub-bands.
Cheers,
Sara

Re: CasaPy
Hi there, I've got 2 more questions. I need to calculate the break frequency for my diffuse source. I know that the spectral brightness is I(nu)=tt0+tt1*((nu-2.1)/2.1) Jy/beam. Now my questions are: 1- How I can calculate the total flux of my extended source in different frequency ( Not at the centr...

Regriding beam to a pixel
Hi there, I'm trying to regrid my image where each pixel will represent a beam size. Thus a point souse should appear as a pixel. I dont know how to do this with the task regrid in MIRID. I'm wondering if anyone can help me here. My Image has cellsize=0.3 and the beam size is 5.4*3 arcsec^2 so now b...

Re-compile of Miriad task rmclean
Hi there, I've changed the rmclean.for in the Miriad environment(Made by mirtree) and compiled it but when I run rmclean it looks like it still has not updated. BTW I used mirtree for the second time since I could not find the first one. It seems The miriad is using the compiled task in first Miriad...

Re: CasaPy
I have 2 more questions now:
1- I've used different scales and I've got different images. How I can decided which image is the final image? should I pick the one which has less alpha error?
2- Can I use nterms>1 for polarization images?
Cheers,
Sara

Re: CasaPy
Hi All, I've been playing a bit using CasaPy to process CABB data - in particular my interest is in dealing with wide bandwidths and sources with extended structure (as these have been difficult to calibrate for in Miriad). The good news is that CasaPy can read in FITS-format files (which you can e...

PB correction for Stokes Q and U images
Hi there,
I've got a 1502 channels cube in stokes q and u. I need to correct for PB attenuation for polarization images. May I use linmos on my q and u cubes the get the PB correction done in my images?
Cheers,
Sara

Do I need to choose line when I'm imaging?
line=ch,1,1,16,1
Cheers,
Sara

Re: Imcat and imcomb error
Hi, I need all available channels to use in RM-synthesis code. I cant use averaging since it will spoil the calculations in that code. After removing those channels without any data left (100% flagged) I ended up to 1505 channels. I now have 1505 uv data needs to uvglue together but it seems that it...

Re: Number of accepted visibilities
Hi Jamie,
This is what I get when I use invert:
Reading the visibility data ...
Making MFS images
Visibilities accepted: 38697615
### Warning: Visibilities rejected: 15025116
So It rejects 27% of the data.
