Re: Does CASA support ATCA pulsar binning mode?
Dear Yihan, No, unfortunately, none of those tasks are available in CASA and I can't find much in the way of pulsar data processing software in CASA. I think importatca will correctly load the data and you'll be able to calibrate it, but after that you'll have to use your own scripts to extract the ...

Re: Imrm tricky things
Hi Yihan, I haven't tried this program myself, but reading the docs it seems it can be tricky to get sensible results. It suggests to enter the images from high to low frequency (X, C, S, L), but if the highest frequency is very noisy you may need to try a combination with better S/N first. I did no...

Re: Antenna 6 gain calibration varying with time
I can't see any plot attached. Are you seeing these variations in the uncalibrated data? Normally variations with elevation should be taken out by the secondary calibration (gpcal on secondary). In any case the variations are quite small and should not affect the target source too much, although it ...

Re: Flux and bandpass calibration using secondary following block drop
I don't have a detailed recipe, but you could try something like the following: use the second part of the run to create a flux model for the secondary using uvfmeas (options=mfflux) - if it is strong enough to use as a bandpass calibrator for the first half, you can put the model in mfcal's flux pa...

Re: immerge problem, potentially with Apple M1 silicon?
Hi Simon,
I've updated the M1 distribution, hopefully that fixes your issue.
Our M1 build is still a bit of a manual process and this must have been forgotten.Apologies for the confusion and extra work.
Cheers,
Mark

Re: immerge problem, potentially with Apple M1 silicon?
Hi Simon,
it turns out this is a problem we've seen before - and it was fixed in January. What version does you immerge report when you run it?
I get: immerge: Revision 1.9, 2022/01/12 03:58:09 UTC
I tried this version and it seems to do the right thing.
Cheers,
Mark

Hi Simon,
interesting findings. I did think the first image you posted looked like the FT of what you wanted - and it seems it is something like that.
I will have a closer look at this today.

Re: immerge problem, potentially with Apple M1 silicon?
Hi Simon, the M1 version has not been widely used so there may well be issues. Can you confirm which version you are actually running? The darwin_x86_64 version (using Rosetta) or the darwin_arm64 version. I have received other reports the Rosetta method does not work reliably with Miriad. Cheers, M...

Re: problems of "wedge" option in cgdisp
Hi Yihan,
thanks for reporting this. I just noticed this error myself on the Mac last week. I've put in a fix and updated the website.
Please let us know if you notice any other issues. The last update was quite large and some bugs may have appeared.

No worries, I finally bit the bullet and managed to get rid of the offending code altogether.
