OFFPOL and the off-axis instrumental polarisation of ATCA

Post by and460 »

Hi,

I am trying to determine whether off-axis instrumental polarisation will be an important issue for my analysis of a sub-Nyquist sampled CABB mosaic at 3GHz. I just wanted to know if the miriad task OFFPOL has been updated to account for the LS feed upgrades that took place a year or so ago, and thus whether it will accurately generate the polarimetric primary beam response of ATCA for the 16cm band at the moment?

Cheers,

Craig.

Hi Craig,

The short answer is: no, offpol doesn't know about the new 16cm beamshapes. We're still doing our off-axis polarisation analysis from our previous datasets. There should be a memo about this in the near future.
