The ATCA Forum

Hi everyone! Welcome to the ATCA Forum forum.

This post describes what I envisage for the ATCA Forum.

I see this as a place to discuss anything that is preventing you getting the most from your ATCA data. If you've noticed some peculiarity in your data that you don't understand; if you're not reaching the sensitivity you expect; if you're convinced that the ATCA is malfunctioning in some fashion, etc.; tell us about it here!

Conversely, if you've done a brilliant reduction using some non-standard tricks and would like to share your experience, please let us know that too :)

And if you've got an idea for an experiment, and would like some help determining whether it's feasible, we'll be more than happy to help.

This forum should be for everyone. Hopefully expert users and ATCA staff will subscribe to the forums that they're interested in (the subscribe button is down the bottom of each forum's main page) and will then participate in the discussion.

This is not a replacement for the normal fault report system, nor is it the best place to discuss matters of CSIRO or Astronomy and Space Science policy on time assignment or remote observing etc. Please keep forum postings about ATCA data and/or science related topics, so we don't all become disinterested and never come back!
