Hi there,
I've got a 1502 channels cube in stokes q and u. I need to correct for PB attenuation for polarization images. May I use linmos on my q and u cubes the get the PB correction done in my images?
Cheers,
Sara

Re: PB correction for Stokes Q and U images
Hi Sarah,
yes, using linmos will apply the Stokes I primary beam correction to the images, this may be sufficient for your purposes. Because there is significant instrumental polarisation it is not advisable to go beyond the half power point for a single pointing. If you need to image the polarised emission over a larger area it is best to use mosaicing.
The task offpol can give you an indication of the the amount of instrumental polarisation to expect, but be aware it has not been updated for the new receivers.
Cheers,
Mark
